Ship Building
Origins starting in the 18th century, St. Martins' was a shipbuidling village through and through. Craftsmen built over 6,000 vessels during the 19th century and was the majority ship builders for the entirety of British North America.
St. Martin' coastline had at least 12 different shipyards that relied on the lumber from the area, mainly Big Slamon River.
